About

American POWs of Japan is a research project of Asia Policy Point (APP), a Washington, DC-based nonprofit that studies the US policy relationship with Japan and Northeast Asia. The project aims to educate Americans on history of the POW experience both during and after World War II and its effect on the US-Japan alliance.

N.B.: On occasion we will update, edit, and correct these blog posts as we become aware of new information or typos. These changes will not be announced.

APP provides factual context and informed insight on Asian science, finance, politics, security, history, and public policy to the American Asia policy community. We publish for our members a weekly newsletter that previews the upcoming week's events, meetings, hearings, conferences, and research affecting U.S. Asia policy. APP holds seminars and conferences; publishes research and research guides; and assists its members with their research on Asia.

Both individual and institutional memberships are available. An annual individual membership is only $100. Please contact us for more information.

Your support for our project "American POWs of Japan" is encouraged and welcome. APP is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit educational organization. Donations are tax-deductible.
